FAQS

How do I find a good plasterer in Bishopsworth?

Look for someone who does this full time and can show you finished work. Daniel Conn Plastering and Tiling has been plastering in Bishopsworth and south Bristol for 15 years, with Venetian plastering as our specialism. We give a free quote after looking at the job, so you know what is involved before you commit.

How much does plastering cost in Bristol?

It depends on the size of the room, the state of the existing walls and the finish you want. Skimming over sound walls costs less than taking plaster back to brick. Venetian plastering costs more because it is applied by hand in layers. We price each job after seeing it, and the quote is free.

How long do I need to wait before painting new plaster?

Usually between two and four weeks, depending on how thick the plaster is and how warm and airy the room is. New plaster looks dry long before it is. Wait until the colour is even and pale all over, then start with a watered down mist coat so the paint soaks in rather than peeling later.

Do you do both plastering and tiling on the same job?

Yes. A lot of our Bristol work is bathrooms and kitchens where the walls need plastering first and tiling after, and doing both ourselves keeps the job moving. It also means the surface behind the tiles is one we have prepared, which is where most tiling problems start. One quote covers the lot.
